- window(窗户):古代房屋中的采光通风口公元4世纪时,罗马人开始把玻璃应用于窗户上。那么,在这之前,房屋的窗户是什么样子的呢?中国人很早就学会了用纸糊窗户,在古装戏中我们常常可以看到用手在窗纸上戳一个洞来偷窥的场景。而在古代西方,窗户是什么也不糊的。那时候,人们为了采光和通气,会在屋顶和墙壁上开凿一些细长的缝隙。长是为了多进光线和空气,窄是为了抵御恶劣天气,还可以抵御敌人的进攻。因此,在北欧语中,人们将这种细长的缝隙称为vindauga,由vind(wind)+auga(eye)构成,字面意思就是“wind eye,风眼”。英语单词window就是由此单词演变而来的。 window:['wɪndəʊ] n.窗户,窗口
- window窗子window一词来源于古代斯堪的纳维亚语的vindauge;vindr即“wind”;auga即“eye”。最早的窗子是在墙上开的一条又长又窄的缝隙,长是为多进光线,窄是为了抗御坏天气。然而这种长形的“窗子”与其说便于进光线,倒不如说便于进风,完全成了一个进风口。于是人们就管它叫vindauge,即windeye(风洞)。
